Nokia 9 PureView, the anticipated first-ever penta-lens camera phone from the Nokia brand, had been aiming to make a debut later this month. But for now, it looks like Nokia brand licensee HMD Global’s delay will postpone the launch until Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in the next month. This smartphone has been in the talks for a long time and was supposed to release in 2018, but constant delays have caused the phone to arrive at the customer’s next month. The Nokia 9 PureView is finally expected to have five camera sensors at the back and will have a notch-less, PureDisplay panel with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

A leaked post claimed that the Nokia 9 PureView launch has been moved to the forthcoming MWC.

HMD Global initially had plans to bring the Nokia 9 PureView last year. But the delay has been caused due to production line issues. There were problems which arose due to the complicated penta-lens camera setup.

Yet another tipster speculated that if HMD Global has to schedule the launch of Nokia 9 PureView this month, it will send out invitations until Wednesday. It was also believed that if the company has been preferring MWC 2019 as the venue, then the new model will be overshadowed by various other models that will make a debut at the exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.

The strong competitors against the Nokia 9 PureView include the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup which will be the most prominent offering. Samsung will bring thin-bezel displays, newer design language, and 5G support in the competition. The Nokia 9 PureView will be a top-notch model in its family and has been rumored to have Penta lens camera setup at the back which will have five Zeiss-branded camera sensors and a dedicated low-light supporting technology from Light. It might also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and Google’s Android One branding.

Along with the Nokia 9 PureView, HMD Global might also bring the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 8.1 Plus as their two new models at the MWC next month. The 2 new models are rumored to have a punch-hole display design and will come with a dual camera setup. The Nokia 6.2 is said to have a Snapdragon 632 SoC, coupled with 4GB and 6GB RAM options and a 16-megapixel primary camera sensor.
