Samsung Galaxy A-series Leaks Tip In-Display Fingerprint Sensors, ToF 3D Camera on the Way





Mobile giant, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy smartphones will not be the only devices which will hog the limelight this year; they also have plans to launch about nine smartphones in the overhauled Galaxy A-series itself. New reports and leaks suggested that the upcoming smartphones include the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A40, and the Galaxy A90 among others and will sport features such as ToF 3D sensor, in-display fingerprint sensors, dual or triple rear camera setups, and Infinity-O display, which are a few of the innumerable features.

It appears like Samsung has been working on nine new entrants in the Galaxy A-series which would include the Galaxy A90, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A40, and the Galaxy A10. A recent report from South Korea-based ETNews suggested that Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, and the Galaxy A90 will come with an optical in-display fingerprint which is sensor based on the technology that has been developed by Taiwan’s Aegis Technology, whereas MCNEX and Partron will also share the manufacturing responsibilities for these modules. Another smartphone, which will be known as the Galaxy A80, is also in the pipeline and could be launched during the later part of this year.

The report also stated that the Galaxy S10 series will have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor whereas the Galaxy A-series smartphones will feature an optical module. In addition to this, Samsung will provide dual and triple rear camera set-ups, along with a ToF 3D sensor which will be used to assess the spatial gap between the sensor and the object in focus to deliver better bokeh effects in their smartphones. The first wave of Galaxy A-series smartphones is being expected to be announced in the second quarter of 2019. 

report by SamMobile (which was based on information provided by people who were familiar with the matter) also claimed that the Galaxy A90 will come to have 128GB of inbuilt storage with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and will be available in black, gold and silver color options. A new report by SamMobile also suggested that the Galaxy A90 will sport a 6.41-inch display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC, whereas the UI based One will run on Android Pie 

Yet another device in the lineup will be called the Galaxy A50, and it has also reportedly received certification from the WiFi Alliance, which indicates that the smartphone will launch soon. It carries the model number Samsung Galaxy A505FN/DS, and its certification was first spotted by The Android Soul. Additional details regarding the Galaxy A50 were spotted, and this includes a 24-megapixel main camera, a 4,000mAh battery, and an Exynos 9610 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64/ 128 GB of inbuilt storage. 

The Galaxy A40 is yet another member of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A line-up and has been spotted on Geekbench, which carries the model no. SM-A405FN and its listing was first spotted by SamMobile and also revealed that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Exynos 7885 SoC and will be paired with 4GB of RAM and will run Android Pie. The smartphone will apparently be launched in a host of European markets, and this includes UK, Poland, France, and Germany among others. A definite release date for the same isn’t known yet, and everyone is eagerly looking forward to the official confirmation.
