Google Photos New Update Rolled Out – New Suggested Sharing Feature, Teardown Tips

Google Photos

Recently, search engine giant, Google released their latest version of Google Photos for Android (v4.8) which reached Android smartphones. And now their app is expected to get better features such as automatically sharing photos among some contacts.

The teardown by Android Police didn’t reveal how exactly the feature will be functioning. It will apparently consider facts such as user interactions with the app and further go on to suggest sharing based on these interactions.

Along with this suggested sharing, Google has also added links to other Google-made apps that can be observed in the navigation drawer. Apart from this, more such links are on the way.  As a part of the new features for Google Photos, cropping photos might also be a part of the app in case a particular photo needs to be cropped, or Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) might think so.

The tech giant rolled out a plethora of updates to Google Photos in 2018 and this included a new coat of paint to the app and Live Albums which would allow users to automatically update photos of a specific person or pet using their facial recognition technology that is powered by Google Assistant.

The previous updates included free storage for unsupported videos but this lasted only until December.

There have been speculations which claimed that Google might roll out an update in January, which will bring about a new sharing menu as well as a dark theme.
